^{Angiotensin II is a polypeptide substance produced by the hydrolysis of angiotensin I under the action of angiotensin-converting enzyme.}

^{Angiotensin receptors are present in vascular smooth muscle, cells of the adrenal cortex, and cells in some parts of the brain, heart and kidney organs.}

^{Angiotensin II binds to angiotensin receptors, causing corresponding physiological effects, including}

^{(1) constricting systemic arterioles and veins, increasing blood pressure, and increasing blood return to the heart;}

^{(2) increasing the release of sympathetic vasoconstrictor fiber transmitters;}

^{(3) making Sympathetic vasoconstrictor center tension;}

^{(4) stimulate adrenal synthesis and release of aldosterone;}

^{(5)cause or enhance thirst, leading to drinking behavior.}
